CCAI estimates that adoption cost will be between $15,000 and $16,000 excluding home study and post
placement costs. Since we live in California that is probably another $2500 to $3000. We are asking
family and friends for financial assistance. Those of you who are sympathetic to our endeavor can send any donation
amount or if you live in southern California you can take advantage of my computer expertise. Please see the next
paragraph for details.
Here is my added incentive for you to help Danielle and me to finance our adoption. For those living in western
Riverside County, East L.A. County and Orange County I will provide computer services for the donation amounts listed
in the column to the right. These are the minimum amounts(for computer services) so feel free to donate more or less.
Money Order or Cash will be due at the time of service.
Please note that depending on response for computer assistance, availability may be limited since I work full-time for
the County of Orange. Send an e-mail to adoption@lovette.org; include your
name, address and phone number. My availability would be evenings during the week and weekends.
Computers that I will work on: Basically I will gladly work on home computers that are running Windows 2000 or
Windows XP but will reluctantly work on older PCs (Windows 95/98). The reason for being reluctant to work on
Windows 95/98 computers is that these operating systems are too old; they and the hardware they run on are for all
practical purposes obsolete. If you are running a system with Windows 95/98 I would be glad to consult with you and
recommend an upgrade.
I will not touch a system running Windows NT 4.0.
Disclaimer: Please note that you should always have a recent backup of your data. Also you are
advised to make a backup of your data before I arrive because computers can be unpredictable at times; particularly
with older system not running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Should your computer crash backing up your data
will prevent it from being lost. In the unlikely event that this should happen my liability is limited only to
restoring the system with the available software provided by you. Please make sure you have your computer’s software
with serial numbers available.
