Chinese Center For Adoption Affairs Processing Of Adoption Documents

The CCAA has finished the review of the adoption application documents registered with our office before January 31, 2006.

The CCAA has finished the placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with our office before September 8, 2005.

The Dossier is a series of documents that is required for you to adopt a foreign born child, in our case China. The first form in this process is the:

1) I-600A (Application for Advance Processing of Orphan Petition) which you can find at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The requirements to file this form are:

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship of the perspective adoptive parent(s) ie. copy of birth certificate
  • Proof of marriage of applicant and spouse ie. a copy of the certificate of marriage (marriage license) and proof of termination of all priormarriages of himself or herself and spouse
  • Home Study: The home study must include a statement or attachment recommending or approving the adoption or proposed adoption
  • Biometric services (finger printing). USCIS may also take each person's photograph and signature as part of the biometric services. USCIS will notify each person in writing of the time and location where they must go to be fingerprinted.
